Earlier this year OES’s very own employee Suzanne Vizzard, sadly lost her brother Martin to Glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of brain tumour.

Despite this year being extremely tough, Suzanne and her family have continuously raised awareness for Glioblastoma, through charities and fundraising events for The Brain Tumour Charity. Another fundraising event took place on 8 November 2014 and any additional support people can provide is greatly appreciated by Suzanne, her family and OES.

Please find the link below for the charity page if you would like to donate to this worthwhile cause (donators must ensure that they state Martins name when donating):

Martin was just 39 when he lost his fight Glioblastoma. Throughout his treatment he and his family never gave up hope and he fought tirelessly to the end. Martin was a devoted and much loved husband to Emma, son of Michael and Audrey, brother to Nicola and Suzanne, as well as being an uncle, friend, work colleague.

Martin was funny and hardworking, always the life and soul of everything. His family and friends are planning many events to honour his memory and raise as much money as possible, including a 40th birthday party, triathlons, half marathons, and colour run 5k’s!

We know that we should all aspire to have some of his fight and spirit and do all we can to raise awareness and funds for this charity that was so close to his heart.

As everyone who knew Mart knows, he was a great believer in giving back and was always involved in community and charity efforts. So he would love to have seen fundraising done to further research into the awful condition he had.
