Anne Esteban, Reports Team Leader in OES Dubai, is taking part in the New York City Marathon on 7th November and will be raising funds for Smile Train, an international children’s charity set up to provide the life changing surgery for Cleft Lip and Palate.
This will be the 7th Marathon that Anne has undertaken and she has been training extensively in preparation.
Anne spoke of her reason for running, “My passion for running started as a regular weekend activity when I sign up with Nike Running Club in Dubai. I still remember trying to catch my breath on my first kilometre mark. Who would have thought that I will eventually run 42 kilometres! I selected Smile Train as my chosen charity, because I wanted to help the children born with cleft palates. Many children around the world never receive surgery due to poverty.”
