OES Asset Integrity Management recently attended Posidonia 2018 held in the Athens Metropolitan Expo in Greece.

The event is one of the longest standing international maritime and shipping trade shows in the world which celebrated 50 years since its inception.

Over 22,000 people attended from 92 countries to discuss the progression of world shipping and challenges faced in an industry accountable for 95% of world trade.

Whilst at the event Adam Gibson, Strategic Business Director for Europe and Africa, met up with Tony Gennadopoulos, Business Development Manager at Harris Pye, who are also a member of the Joulon family of companies with OES.

Tony Gennadopoulos said of the event, “Posidonia Shipping Exhibition Athens Greece 2018, is this year celebrating half century of global shipping heritage, at a time when markets rebound, especially global shipping is seemingly on a growth spurt buoyed by rising charter rates in the key sectors of dry bulk and container shipping is outstripping supply.

Adam Gibson also commented, “Posidonia 2018 was definitely one to remember, a huge turnout from both exhibitors and attendees. This market is certainly going from strength to strength and with some natural synergies to the OES service portfolio, it’s a huge opportunity.”
